Uses of IPCA MMF 500mg Tablet:

  • Organ Transplantation
  • Autoimmune Diseases

How does IPCA MMF 500mg Tablet work?

Mycophenolate mofetil is a prodrug that is converted by the body to mycophenolic acid (MPA). MPA inhibits the enzyme inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) that is required for proliferation of T- and B-lymphocytes. It suppresses these cells which can reduce the immune response that can target transplanted organs.

How to Use & Dosage?

The exact dosage depends on the type of organ transplant and the condition of the individual patient.

Read the Medication Guide that comes with your prescription. Your pharmacist will give you the Medication Guide when you fill your prescription for mycophenolate and each time you refill the prescription. Ask your pharmacist or doctor if you have any questions.

Usually this medicine is taken by mouth twice daily on an empty stomach, either 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after meals, as directed by your doctor.

Take the whole tablet. Do not chew or crush! If you take capsules before swallowing, do not open the capsules.

The dose is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Furthermore, the size of the body affects the dosage for children.

To get the most benefit from this drug, take it on a daily basis. Take it at the same time every day to help with memory.
