How does 5 Fu Gls 500mg Tablet work?
Fluorouracil works by blocking the enzyme, thymidylate synthase. This enzyme is required for cells to make DNA. It interferes with the growth and spread of fast growing cancer cells by inserting itself into the DNA and RNA of these cells.
How to Use & Dosage
Given by a doctor through an intravenous (IV) infusion. Dosage and frequency depends on the type of cancer being treated, the health of the patient and other specific circumstances.
Fluorouracil injection comes as a solution to be injected intravenously (into a vein) by a doctor or nurse in a medical facility. How long you will be treated depends on what type of drugs you are taking, how well your body responds to them, and what type of cancer you have.
