Doxotero 50mg Injection

Doxotero 50mg Injection is a chemotherapy drug of anthracycline class that contains Doxorubicin and is commonly used to treat different types of cancers including breast cancer, leukaemia, lymphomas and many more.

How does Doxotero 50mg Injection work?

Doxorubicin intercalates DNA strands and thus prevents DNA replication and synthesis of proteins in cancer cells. Moreover, it produces free radicals which are involved in cell death.

How to Use & Dosage

Administration Intravenous (IV) drip. The dosage is based on the patient’s body surface area and the type of cancer being treated.

This drug is given by intravenous infusion. It is given by a specially trained health care worker in a hospital or clinic. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you have any strange feelings like pain, swelling, or burning at the injection site.

Ask your paediatrician about the use of this medicine in children. More care may be necessary.

Safety Advice

🫀 Liver

Dosage adjustment may be necessary in patients with hepatic impairment. Regular testing of liver function should be performed. Please consult your health care provider.

Patients with renal impairment may require dose modifications. Renal function tests should be done on a routine basis. Please discuss it with your health care provider.

🤰 Pregnancy

Due to its severe toxicity, doxorubicin should only be used in pregnancy if absolutely necessary. It could harm the fetus. Please talk to your doctor.

🤱 Breast Feeding

Nursing mothers are not recommended due to the possibility of severe side effects in the infant. Be sure to talk to your health care provider.

🍺 Alcohol

It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Doxotero 50mg Injection. Please consult your doctor.

Storage Instructions

Store vials in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C (36°F to 46°F) Do not freeze the solution.
