Hertraz 440mg Injection is a monoclonal antibody (Trastuzumab) used for treatment of HER2-positive cancers, mainly breast and gastric cancers.

How does a Hertraz 440mg Injection work?

HER2 is a protein which is over-expressed on the surface of some cancer cells. Trastuzumab binds to HER2 to block tumour growth and inhibits signalling pathways that cause cells to grow and survive. It also causes the immune system to target the cells for destruction.


How to Use & Dosage

The usual dose is 8 mg/kg depending on the protocol followed by a maintenance dose of 6 mg/kg every three weeks. Given as an intravenous infusion; initial infusions should be administered slowly, in order to observe for adverse reactions.

It is administered by injection into a vein. It is given by a medical specialist in a hospital or clinic who has had special training.

This medicine may be given to children. Talk to the doctor before giving this medicine to your child. This medicine is not to be used in children.

  • Loss of appetite
  • Diarrhea
  • Fatigue
  • Dizziness
  • Sweating
  • Stomatitis (mouth sores)
  • Hand-foot syndrome
  • Cardiotoxicity
  • Liver enzyme elevation

Safety Advise:

🟤 Liver

Regular liver function tests are recommended as this drug can be toxic particularly in people who already have disease. Please consult with your healthcare provider.

🫘 Kidney

Periodic tests for kidney function are recommended as the drug can cause toxicity especially in patients with pre-existing conditions. Please talk to your healthcare provider.

🤰 Pregnancy

Hertraz is contraindicated in pregnancy because of the risk of fetal harm. Please speak with your healthcare provider.

🤱 Breastfeeding

Breastfeeding should be avoided. The drug may be excreted in breast milk. Please talk to your healthcare provider.


Storage Instructions:

Store Hertraz Injection in a refrigerator (2-8°C) and protect from light. Do not freeze.
