Cacit 500mg Tablet is a chemotherapy medicine used in the treatment of certain types of cancer. It contains Capecitabine as its active ingredient.

How does the Cacit 500mg Tablet work?

Capecitabine is a prodrug that is metabolised to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) in the body. 5-FU is an antimetabolite that inhibits cancer cell growth by disrupting DNA synthesis and RNA processing.

How to Use & Dosage

The dose of Capecitabine varies with the type of cancer, treatment regimen and the patient’s body surface area.

Capecitabine is a pill that you take by mouth. It is usually given twice a day after meals for 2 weeks. Then after a one week break you start the next cycle. Your doctor will determine how often to repeat the cycle, based on your response and side effects. It should be taken at the same time each day with a glass of water. Follow the instructions on your prescription carefully and ask your doctor or chemist any questions that you may have.

Do not cut, crush or chew the tablets. Swallow them whole.

Storage Instructions

Store at room temperature, typically between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Keep in a dry place, protected from light and humidity.
