Carbotero 150mg Injection is a platinum-based chemotherapy drug that contains the active ingredient Carboplatin. It is used to treat various types of cancer. Carboplatin interferes with the DNA of cancer cells and stops the cells from growing and dividing.

How does the Carbotero 150mg Injection work?

Carboplatin belongs to the class of alkylating agents. It cross-links with the DNA of cancer cells, ceasing RNA production and DNA replication and ultimately killing the cancer cells. Carboplatin is often chosen because it has fewer side effects than its predecessor cisplatin, especially in terms of kidney toxicity.

How to Use & Dosage

The Carbotero dose is calculated according to the patient’s body surface area, renal function, and the type of cancer that is being treated. It is usually administered in a clinical setting as an intravenous (IV) infusion under the supervision of an oncologist.

Carboplatin is given by a doctor or nurse in a hospital setting. The doctor or nurse will give you a solution (liquid) by an IV (into a vein) over at least 15 minutes. It is typically administered once every 4 weeks.

Storage Instructions

Store at controlled room temperature, generally between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Store in the dark.
