Uses of Eczas 1gm Injection: Severe Bacterial Infection


How does Eczas 1gm Injection work?

Ertapenem binds to penicillin binding proteins ( PBP’s ) and inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis . This leads to the degradation of cell walls and death of bacteria . Ertapenem is effective against some drug-resistant bacteria, and it can be used to combat both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria.


How to Use & Dosage?

Administered by intramuscular (IM) injection or intravenous (IV) infusion. 1 gram once daily.

Ertapenem dosage depends on the type of infection and it is injected either intramuscularly or intravenously once or twice a day. When you begin to get better your doctor will decide how long you will need antibiotics for . Your doctor may also decide to change you to an oral antibiotic.

If you will be using ertapenem injection at home, your healthcare provider will show you how to use it. Make sure you understand these instructions and talk to your healthcare practitioner if you have any concerns. If you have any problems giving the ertapenem injection, ask your doctor what to do.

After the first few days of treatment with ertapenem injection you should start to feel better. See your doctor if symptoms get worse or do not get better.

Storage Instructions:
