Forzid 2gm Injection

Forzid 2gm Injection is an antibiotic injection containing Ceftazidime used to treat serious bacterial infections of the stomach, urinary system and lungs. This can be used to treat a number of diseases in adults and children.

Uses of Forzid 2gm Injection:

• Urinary tract infections
• Intra-abdominal infections
• Hospital-acquired bacterial pneumonia and ventilator-associated bacterial pneumonia.

How does Forzid 2gm Injection work?

Ceftazidime is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic that prevents the formation of bacterial cell walls, leading to cell lysis and death.

How to Use & Dosage

Administered by intravenous infusion, usually over a 2-hour period. The amount of medicine given and how long treatment lasts depend on the kind and seriousness of the infection and also on the patient’s factors, such as how well the kidneys are working.

This medicine is given through a vein or muscle every 8 to 12 hours. The dose for children is based on weight and medical condition. Check for particles or discoloration before use and ask your health care provider how to properly prepare and store it. Allow to thaw at room temperature or in the refrigerator before use, then shake well before use if using a pre-mixed solution that has been frozen. Use the antibiotic at regular intervals to get the best results.

🤱 Breast Feeding

Forzid 2gm injection is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. The data indicate that the drug may be harmful to the infant.

Storage Instructions

Keep in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. After reconstitution, store according to the product literature.
