Fulzos 250mg Injection

: Fulzos 250mg Injection is the medicine that contains Fulvestrant. Fulvestrant is a hormone receptor antagonist. It is mainly used to treat breast cancer that is hormone receptor positive.

How does the Fulzos 250mg Injection work?

It binds to oestrogen receptors to block the effects of oestrogen. This is important because oestrogen can stimulate the growth of breast cancer cells. Fulvestrant also causes the oestrogen receptor to degrade, decreasing the number of oestrogen receptors available, in addition to blocking its function.

How to Use & Dosage

Initial dose is generally 500 mg administered intramuscularly on day 0, 14 and 28. Then take 500 mg once a month as a maintenance dose. Fulvestrant is given by intramuscular injection; it is usually injected into the gluteal muscle.

Fulvestrant is a liquid solution given by injection into a muscle of the buttock, slowly over one to two minutes Fulvestrant is injected into a muscle in a medical office by a doctor or nurse. The first three doses (days 1, 15 and 29) are generally given at two week intervals and then the vaccine is given at monthly intervals. Your dose of the prescription will be given as two separate injections, one in each buttock.Ask your chemist or physician for a copy of the manufacturer’s information for the patient.

Possible Side Effects:

• Diarrhea
• Fatigue
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Decreased appetite
• Abdominal pain
• Anemia
• Neutropenia (low levels of neutrophils)
• Increased liver enzymes (AST and ALT)
• Headache

Fulvestrant may cause increased liver enzymes and hepatotoxicity, liver function tests must be performed regularly. Please speak with your healthcare provider.

🫘 Kidney

Use this medication with care in patients with severe kidney impairment. Talk to your healthcare provider.

🫁 Lungs

Patients should be observed for signs of lung inflammation such as new or worsening cough, dyspnoea or difficulty breathing. Please consult your health care professional.

🤰 Pregnancy

Fulvestrant may cause harm to an unborn baby so should not be used when pregnant. Please talk with your health care provider.

🤱 Breast-feeding

Breast-feeding should be avoided as the drug can pass into breast milk and cause harm to the nursing infant. Please speak with your healthcare provider.

🚗 Driving

It is not known if Fulvestrant will affect your ability to drive a car. So be careful using it. Talk to your health care professional.

Storage Instructions:

Store at controlled room temperature between 15° and 25°C (59° and 77°F). Keep in the dark.
