How does Gardasil 9 Injection 0.5ml Work ?
Gardasil is a recombinant HPV shot containing L1 Virus-Like Particles (VLPs) for HPV types 6, 11, 16 & 18. The VLPs are digested by antigen presenting cells (APCs) after an intramuscular injection, which activate T-helper cells. These activate B cells to produce HPV-specific neutralising antibodies. These antibodies prevent the virus from entering host epithelial cells and thus prevent the virus from replicating. The vaccine induces long-term immunological memory resulting in prolonged protection against HPV-associated malignancies and genital warts. Aluminum adjuvant helps ramp up the immune response to provide more effective, longer-lasting protection.
