Gefitero 250mg Tablet

Gefitero 250mg Tablet contains Gefitinib which is an oral medicine that is used mainly for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer with specific mutations in the epidermal growth factor receptor gene. Gefitinib is a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, and works by blocking the signals that cause cancer cells to grow.

How does a Gefitero 250mg Tablet work?

Gefitinib is a selective inhibitor of the EGFR tyrosine kinase that mediates signalling pathways regulating cell migration, survival and proliferation. This pathway can be blocked by Gefinitib and the growth of these cancer cells can be stopped.

How to Use & Dosage

250mg once daily, with or without food. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water. Do not chew or crush the tablet.

Take this medicine by mouth with a full glass of water. Use as directed on the medicine label. Can be taken with or without food. Take your medicine on a regular basis. Do not take it more often than prescribed. Do not stop taking it, unless your physician tells you to.

If you have trouble taking the tablets, tell your doctor, chemist or other health care provider. They can tell you what to do.

Ask your doctor or chemist about the use of this medicine in children. You might need to be more careful.

Safety Advise

🫀 Liver

Gefitinib can damage the liver and raise liver enzyme levels. Regular testing of liver function is advisable, especially in those who already have liver disease. Please check with your health care professional.

🫘 Kidney

Regular kidney function tests are advised, particularly for individuals with existing kidney disease. Consult your doctor or health care provider.

🤰 Pregnancy

Gefitinib is harmful to the foetus when administered to a pregnant woman. Effective contraception should be used during treatment. Please consult with your healthcare provider.

🤱 Breast feeding

It is not known whether erlotinib passes into breast milk and therefore is not recommended for use in the treatment. Please discuss with your healthcare provider.

🍺 Alcohol

It is not known whether the Gefitero 250mg Tablet will cause drowsiness when taken with alcohol. Consult your health care professional.

Storage Instructions

Store at room temperature (15°C to 30°C) in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
