Hicoly 4.5 MIU Injection contains colistimethate sodium which is an antibiotic medicine used in the treatment of severe bacterial infections, particularly those caused by multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria.

How does Hicoly 4.5 MIU Injection work?

Colistin interacts with the lipopolysaccharide (LPS) layer of the Gram-negative bacterial membranes, increasing the permeability of the membrane. This leads to the leakage of intracellular contents and finally to bacterial death. It is highly active against multidrug resistant (MDR) Gram-negative bacteria including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter baumannii and some Enterobacteriaceae.


How to Use & Dosage?

Dosage is generally weight based and should be determined by a health care professional. Hicoly is administered by intravenous or intramuscular injection.

Storage Instructions:

Store below 25°C, protected from moisture. Once reconstituted, use immediately or store in a refrigerator for a short duration.
