How does Mabtas 100mg Injection work?
Rituximab targets the CD20 antigen on the B-lymphocyte (B-cell) which is involved in normal immune function as well as in the development of certain cancers such as non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and CLL. Rituximab binds to CD20 and causes B-cell death by several mechanisms including direct apoptosis (cell death), complement activation and immune cells to kill the antibody tagged B-cells.
