Mycofit 500mg Tablet contains Mycophenolate Mofetil which is an immunosuppressive agent used mainly to prevent organ rejection in transplant recipients. It decreases the activity of the immune system so that it does not attack the transplanted organ.
Pregnant or breast-feeding women should not use this medication as it may cause birth defects. There may be drug interactions so tell your doctor if you have infections, blood problems, stomach problems or any medicines you are taking.

How does Mycofit 500mg Tablet work?
Mycophenolate sodium works by blocking an enzyme that helps lymphocytes grow, the immune cells that attack foreign tissue. Mycophenolate works by reducing the production of lymphocytes which lowers the immune system’s response and helps prevent the body from rejecting the transplanted organ.
How to Use & Dosage
Kidney transplant patients are usually recommended 720 mg twice a day, although doses can vary depending on the specific organ transplant and patient requirements. Taken orally, unless directed by a healthcare professional. Best if taken on an empty stomach for best absorption.Your chemist will give you a Medication Guide to read before you start taking mycophenolate and with each refill. If you have any questions, ask your chemist or doctor.
In general, take this medication by mouth twice daily on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after meals, as directed by your doctor. Swallow the medication completely. Do not chew or crush. If you are taking them before swallowing, do not open the capsules.The dosage is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Dosage for children is also affected by body size. Take this medicine every day. You will get the most benefit if you take it at the same time every day. Take it daily at the same time to aid memory.

Pregnancy
Mycofit 500mg tablets should not be taken by pregnant women as it may harm the fetus. Talk to your health care provider.
Breastfeeding
It is not known whether Mycofit 500mg Tablet passes into your breast milk or if it affects your breast milk. If you are on this medication, consult your doctor on the best way to feed your baby.
Alcohol
It is recommended to stop drinking during use of Mycofit 500 Tablet to prevent unwanted side effects. Please talk to your health care professional.
Driving
Do not drive or operate heavy machinery while taking Mycofit 500 Tablet as it may make you sleepy or dizzy. Please discuss with your health care provider.
Storage Instructions:
Store between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Store in a tightly closed container, protected from moisture and light.
