How does the Posid 100mg Injection work?
Etoposide action involves inhibition of an enzyme (topoisomerase II) which is essential for DNA replication. It blocks the ligation of DNA strands after they are cut, thus causing DNA breaks, and eventually leading to apoptosis (programmed cell death) of cancer cells by stabilizing the topoisomerase II-DNA complex.
How to Use & Dosage
The dosage depends on the exact disease being treated, the general health of the patient and other variables.
Etoposide injection is a solution (liquid) or a powder that is mixed with liquid and then slowly injected into a vein (intravenous) by a doctor or nurse in a medical office. How long your treatment lasts depends on the kind of cancer you have, the medications you take, and how well your body responds to them.
