T-Planin 200mg Injection is an antibiotic which contains Teicoplanin and is used to treat infections caused by bacteria, especially Gram-positive bacteria. It is particularly effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other antibiotic resistant infections.

Possible side effects include fever, rash and itching. Minor injection site reactions such as pain or swelling may occur. You may need regular kidney tests. Be careful when driving as you may feel dizzy or have headaches. If you are pregnant or breast feeding, check with your doctor.

T-Planin 200mg Injection is an antibiotic which contains Teicoplanin and is used to treat infections caused by bacteria, especially Gram-positive bacteria. It is particularly effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and other antibiotic resistant infections.

How does T-Planin 200mg Injection work?

The mechanism of action of teicoplanin is the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis. It binds to the D-alanyl-D-alanine residues of the peptidoglycan of the bacterial cell wall, preventing cross-linking and thus killing the bacterium. It is especially effective against gram-positive bacteria.


How to Use & Dosage

Dosage depends upon type and severity of infection, renal function and age of patient. Intravenous administration. It is normally administered every 8 hours.

Safety Advise:

🩺 Kidneys

Teicoplanin is mainly excreted by the kidneys, therefore the dose has to be adjusted in patients with renal impairment. Be sure to speak with your health care provider.

🫀 Liver

Meropenem can increase liver enzymes and therefore liver function tests should be monitored during prolonged therapy, especially in patients with liver disease. Talk to your doctor.

🤰 Pregnancy

PregnancyThe use of Teicoplanin during pregnancy has not been fully established. Use only when clearly needed and under medical supervision. Discuss with your healthcare provider.

🤱 Breast-Feeding

Use with caution during breast-feeding. The drug can pass into breast milk. Please consult your health care provider.

Storage Instructions

Store in a cool & dry place away from sunlight. Store the vials at room temperature before reconstituting. On reconstitution, the solution should be used within the time specified by the manufacturer to ensure stability and effectiveness.
