Product Description
Tigetop 50mg Injection is a medicine containing Tigecycline which is an antibiotic belonging to the group of medicines known as glycylcyclines. The broad-spectrum antibiotic tigecycline can be used to treat a variety of bacterial infections, including those resistant to other antibiotics.
Uses of Tigetop 50mg Injection:
- Complex infections of the skin and soft tissues
- Complicated intra-abdominal infections
- Community-acquired pneumonia
How does Tigetop 50mg Injection work?
Tigecycline binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit, preventing bacteria from synthesising proteins. This in effect halts the growth of bacteria by not allowing amino acids to be added to the growing peptide chain.
How to Use & Dosage
50 mg every 12 hours, usually administered intravenously over 30 to 60 minutes. Duration of treatment is determined on the type and severity of infection (usually 5 to 14 days).
Tigecycline injections can be given at home or in a hospital if a healthcare professional provides the correct instructions on how to administer the medication and deal with any problems.
You should start feeling better in the first few days of treatment with tigecycline injectable. If your symptoms do not improve or if symptoms worsen, contact your physician.
