Trezam 1gm Injection is an Antibiotic injection and it contains Aztreonam, which is used to prevent or treat a variety of bacterial infections like blood, brain, ears, skin, belly, bones, lungs and urinary tract.

How does Trezam 1gm Injection work?

Aztreonam works by disrupting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It binds to penicillin-binding proteins in the bacterial cell wall and causes cell lysis and death. It is more efficient against resistant strains, due to its monobactam structure, resistant to several bacterial beta-lactamases.


How to Use & Dosage?

Trezam is usually given by a healthcare professional as an intramuscular injection or a slow intravenous infusion and needs to be reconstituted and diluted properly before it is given, according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.

If you are given this medicine at home you will be told how to prepare and give it.

Take it exactly as prescribed. Take it at the same time each day as indicated on the prescription label. Continue taking it until your doctor tells you to stop. It is very important that used needles and syringes be thrown away in a special sharps container. If you do not have a sharps container, call your pharmacist or health care provider for one.

If you think you may have taken an overdose, call your local emergency room or poison control center right away.
