Trezam 2gm Injection

Trezam 2gm Injection is an Aztreonam antibiotic injection that is used to prevent and treat different bacterial infections such as infections of blood, brain, ears, skin, belly, bones, lungs and urinary tract.

Uses of Trezam 2gm Injection:

• Infections caused by susceptible Gram-negative bacteria
• Urinary tract infections
• Respiratory tract infections
• Intra-abdominal infections
• Skin and soft tissue infections

How does Trezam 2gm Injection work?

Aztreonam works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It attaches to penicillin-binding proteins in the cell wall of the bacteria and causes the cell to lyse and die. Due to its monobactam structure and resistance to several bacterial beta lactamases it is more effective against resistant strains.

How to Use & Dosage

Trezam is usually given to you by a healthcare professional as an injection into a muscle or slowly into a vein (intravenous infusion). Make sure Trezam is reconstituted and diluted correctly before giving it (see instructions in the manufacturer’s information).

This medicine is given as an injection into a vein or muscle. It is usually given by a medical professional in a hospital or clinic. If you have this medicine at home you will be shown how to prepare and give it.

Take exactly as directed. Take at the same time of day as directed on the prescription label. Continue taking it until told to stop by your doctor. It is very important that you dispose of used needles and syringes in a designated sharps container. If you do not have a sharps container, call your pharmacist or health care provider for one.

Call an emergency room or poison control center right away if you think you may have overdosed.

• Rash
• Itching
• Fever
• Fatigue
• Injection site reactions (pain, redness, swelling)
• Allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
• Liver enzyme elevations

Trezam 2gm is used with caution in patients with renal disease. It may be necessary to adjust the dose of Trezam. Check with your health care provider.

Trezam 2gm should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. You might need to change the dose of Trezam. Talk to your doctor.

🤰 Pregnancy

Using Trezam while pregnant is dangerous since there is clear evidence that they possess a harm to the growing fetus. Please consult with your health care provider.

🤱 Breast-feeding

Using Trezam during breast feeding is harmful and this is poison to the fetus. Speak to your doctor.

Storage Instructions

Store in a dry environment and at room temperature. Keep away from moisture. Keep in original packaging, out of direct sunlight.
