How does Mofecon-S 360mg Tablet work?
Mycophenolate mofetil is a pro-drug which is converted in the body to mycophenolic acid (MPA). MPA inhibits inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase (IMPDH) which is an enzyme required for the proliferation of T- and B-lymphocytes. It suppresses these cells, and therefore the immunological response that can attack transplanted organs.
The precise dose depends on the type of organ transplant and the status of the individual patient.
