Capegard 500mg Tablet is an oral chemotherapy medicine used to treat certain types of cancer.

How does Capegard 500mg Tablet work?

Capecitabine is a prodrug that gets converted in the body to 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). 5-FU is an antimetabolite and acts by inhibiting the growth of cancer cells by interfering with DNA synthesis and RNA processing.

How to Use & Dosage

The dosages of Capecitabine vary depending on the type of cancer, treatment schedule and the patient’s body surface area.

Capecitabine is a pill you take by mouth, usually twice a day after meals, for two weeks. Then, after a one-week respite, the next cycle is started. Your doctor will determine how often to repeat the cycle depending on your response and any adverse effects. Take it with a glass of water at roughly the same time each day. Follow the instructions on your prescription carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist any questions you may have.

Do not crush, chew, or break the tablets. Swallow whole.

A 500 mg tablet of Capegard is not advised to take during breastfeeding. There is evidence that the drug may be harmful to the unborn child. Please consult your physician.

🍺 Alcohol

It is not known if it is safe to drink alcohol with Capegard 500mg Tablets. Be sure to consult with your medical professional.

Storage Instructions

Store at room temperature, usually between 15°C and 30°C (59°F and 86°F). Store in a dry place away from light and humidity.
