Carbotero 450mg Injection

Carbotero 450mg Injection is a platinum based chemotherapy drug, which contains Carboplatin and is used in the treatment of various cancers. Carboplatin interferes with cancer cells’ DNA, it slows their growth and division.

How does the Carbotero 450mg Injection work?

Carboplatin belongs to the class of alkylating agents. It cross-links with the DNA of the cancer cells and prevents the production of RNA and replication of DNA, and eventually kills the cancer cells. It is often chosen due to the lower adverse effects of carboplatin compared to its predecessor cisplatin, especially with regard to kidney toxicity.

How to Use & Dosage

The Carbotero dosage is calculated according to the patient’s body surface area, renal function and the type of cancer being treated. Carboplatin will be given as an injection (IV) into a vein by a doctor or nurse over at least 15 minutes. It is administered once every four weeks.

Storage Instructions

Store at room temperature, usually between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Keep away from light.
