How does Cavim 2.5gm Injection work?
Ceftazidime is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic which acts by inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis resulting in cell lysis and death. Avibactam is a non-beta-lactam beta-lactamase inhibitor that enhances the activity of ceftazidime against infections caused by beta-lactamase producing organisms by protecting ceftazidime from degradation by certain beta-lactamase enzymes produced by resistant bacteria.
