How does Deghor 80mg Injection work?

Degarelix is a GnRH antagonist that acts by directly blocking GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland. This leads to a sudden drop in follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which then decreases the ability of the testes to produce testosterone. That drop can help slow or stop the growth of prostate cancer because these cancer cells need testosterone to grow.

How to Use & Dosage

Deghor 80mg Injection is given as a subcutaneous injection (under the skin) in the abdominal area. The loading dose (on day 1 of treatment) is usually 240 mg, given as two injections of 120 mg each.

The Degarelix injection is supplied as a powder that is mixed with a liquid before administration. It is injected under the skin in the abdominal area, avoiding the waistline and ribs. In a medical setting, a doctor or nurse usually administers the injection once every 28 days.

After receiving the injection, avoid tight clothing, waistbands, or belts that may press on the injection site.
