How does Difidox 100mg Injection work?
Doxycycline is an antibiotic belonging to the tetracycline class that prevents bacteria from synthesizing proteins. It binds to the bacterial 30S ribosomal subunit and prevents aminoacyl-tRNA joining the mRNA-ribosome complex. This stops bacterial growth by preventing amino acids from being added to the growing peptide chain (bacteriostatic action).
How to Use & Dosage
Given by intravenous (IV) infusion; usually it is diluted and given over a period of one to four hours. Dosage and length of time depend on the type and severity of the infection.
Doxycycline is administered as an injection, in the form of a powder, which is mixed with a liquid and given intravenously (into a vein). It is usually administered every twelve or twenty-four hours over a period of one to four hours. Your course of treatment will depend on your type of illness and how your body responds to the medicine.
