Uses of Ezepnem 1gm Injection: Severe Bacterial Infection
How does Ezepnem 1gm Injection work?
Ertapenem binds to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) and prevents the formation of bacterial cell walls. This leads to the breakdown of cell walls and death of the bacteria. Ertapenem is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including some drug-resistant ones.
How to Use & Dosage?
Administered intramuscularly (IM) or by intravenous (IV) infusion. Should be taken 1 gram per day.
Depending on the type of infection, ertapenem is given as an intramuscular or intravenous injection once or twice daily. When you start to feel better your doctor will decide how long to treat you and may switch you to an oral antibiotic.
Your healthcare practitioner will show you how to use ertapenem injection at home if you are going to use it at home. Make sure you understand these instructions, and if you have any concerns, discuss them with your healthcare provider.
