Dasanit 50 mg Tablet contains the active ingredient Dasatinib which is a type of chemotherapy drug known as tyrosine kinase inhibitors. It is mainly used to treat Philadelphia chromosome-positive leukemias, such as Acute lymphoblastic leukemia and Chronic Myeloid leukemia

Dasanat 50 mg Tablet contains dasatinib. Active ingredient: dasatinib This is a type of cancer (chemotherapy) drug called a tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It is mainly used to treat Philadelphia chromosome-positive leukemias (Ph+ leukemias) such as Acute lymphoblastic leukemia and Chronic Myeloid leukemia.

Mechanism of Action:
Dasatinib inhibits several tyrosine kinases which are essential for the growth and survival of cancer cells. It acts specifically on the BCR-Abl protein, generated in Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and Chronic Myeloid leukemia (CML) as a consequence of the abnormal Philadelphia chromosome. This protein is blocked by dasatinib, which prevents cancer cells from growing and causes them to die.

Dosage and how to take it:
The dose of Dasatinib is based on the condition being treated and how well the patient responds to treatment. Take tablets by mouth with or without food. Do not crush or break the tablets so that the drug is not absorbed through your skin.

Safety Advice
Liver
Temozolomide may cause damage to the liver. Routine liver function tests are needed to monitor your liver’s health during therapy. Consult with your health care provider.
Kidney
Renal injury may be caused by temozolomide. While you are on therapy, you will need to have regular kidney function tests to keep an eye on your kidney health. Please see your health care provider.
Pregnancy
Temozolomide can also cause birth defects. Females of childbearing potential should use effective contraception throughout the treatment period. Please consult your health care professional.
Breast-Feeding
You should not breast-feed while you are being treated. The drug may pass into the breast milk and could harm the baby. Please see your doctor.
Alcohol
Avoid alcohol while taking Temozolomide because it can increase side effects such as nausea, vomiting and liver damage. Please discuss with your health care provider.
Driving:
Temozolomide can cause fatigue, anxiety or dizziness. Do not drive a car if you have any of these side effects. Please discuss with your health care provider.
Storage:
Store at room temperature (15°C – 30°C), away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep the medication out of reach of children.
How to use this Medication?
Take this medicine by mouth with water, following the prescription label, and avoid grapefruit juice. Do not cut or crush it, and avoid antacids or other acid-reducing medicines within 2 hours of taking this medication.
Consult your pediatrician about the usage of this medication in young patients. Although this medication may be administered for specific diseases in children as young as one year old, there are some things to keep in mind.
