Product Description
The antibiotic Targocid 400mg Injection contains teicoplanin. Many bacterial infections, particularly those brought on by Gram-positive bacteria, are treated with it. How does Targocid 400mg Injection work?
Teicoplanin acts by inhibiting synthesis of bacterial cell walls. It kills the bacterium by binding to the D-alanyl-D-alanine residues of peptidoglycan in the bacterial cell wall, thus inhibiting cross-linking. This approach is particularly effective with Gram-positive bacteria.
How to Use & Dosage?
Intravenous The dosage is dependent on the type and severity of infection, renal function and age of the patient. It is given every 8 hours in general.

Safety Advise:
Kidneys
Teicoplanin is mainly excreted by the kidneys, therefore the dose has to be adjusted in patients with renal impairment. Be sure to speak with your health care provider.
Liver
Meropenem can increase liver enzymes and therefore liver function tests should be monitored during prolonged therapy, especially in patients with liver disease. Talk to your doctor.
Pregnancy
PregnancyThe use of Teicoplanin during pregnancy has not been fully established. Use only when clearly needed and under medical supervision. Discuss with your healthcare provider.
Breast-Feeding
Use with caution during breast-feeding. The drug can pass into breast milk. Please consult your health care provider.

Storage Instructions:
Store in a cool & dry place away from sunlight. Store the vials at room temperature before reconstituting. On reconstitution, the solution should be used within the time specified by the manufacturer to ensure stability and effectiveness.
