Product Description

Mofetyl 500mg Tablet is an immunosuppressant which contains Mycophenolate mofetil. It is mainly used to prevent organ rejection in transplant patients.

Uses of Mofetyl 500mg Tablet:

  • Organ Transplantation
  • Autoimmune Diseases

How does Mofetyl 500mg Tablet work?

Mycophenolate mofetil is a prodrug that is converted by the body to mycophenolic acid (MPA). MPA inhibits the enzyme inosine monophosphate dehydrogenase, which is needed for T- and B-lymphocyte proliferation. This suppresses these cells , and so reduces the immunological response that can target transplanted organs .

How to Use & Dosage?

The exact dosage depends on the type of organ transplant and the individual patient’s condition.

Before beginning to take mycophenolate, as well as with each refill, read the Medication Guide that your pharmacist has provided. Ask your pharmacist or physician any queries you may have. In general, take this medication by mouth twice a day on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after meals, as directed by your physician.

Swallow the medicine whole. Do not break, chew or crush. If taking the capsules, do not open them before swallowing. The dose depends on your medical condition and how you respond to treatment. Also, body size affects the dose in children. For maximum benefits with this drug, take it daily. To help memory, take it at the same time daily.
