How does Merofit 500mg Injection work?
Ceftriaxone is a third generation cephalosporin antibiotic which works by inhibiting the synthesis of bacterial cell walls and thus causing cell death. It is often administered with sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor which prevents some resistant bacteria from breaking down ceftriaxone (and thus making it more effective). Disodium edetate, a stabiliser in this formulation, decreases toxicity and increases the general stability of the antibiotic. These factors work in concert to improve the effectiveness of treatment of bacterial infections.
How to Use & Dosage
Administered by a medical practitioner by intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) injection. The length of treatment and the dose of treatment depend on the particular infection and the characteristics of the patient.
